The Latin America & Caribbean (LATAM) IEEPO Workshop took place in San José, Costa Rica on 7–8 August, 2025. We brought together 33 participants (patient advocates and public health representatives) from 13 LATAM countries to discuss two key topics that impact patient care in the region:

  • • Participation of citizens (patients, carers) in healthcare decision-making (referenced as social participation)
  • • Decentralised care as a means to address healthcare system fragmentation
