Bastian Hauck, IEEPO Moderator and Founder of #dedoc°, Germany and Raquel Peck, IEEPO Program Chair, and former CEO World Hepatitis Alliance, UK opened the event by touching on the evolution of the IEEPO programme, which has now become a dynamic engagement platform with multiple touch points throughout the year. Raquel highlighted the new key resources and templates available to the community on IEEPO.com such as:
- IEEPO Position Paper and the Position Paper toolkit - a useful tool to help support the patient community and boost local efforts.
- Position Paper bite sized chapter videos - a snapshot of each chapter within the IEEPO Position Paper
- IEEPO Position Paper Infographic - a simple tool to navigate the key calls to action
Rebecca Vermeulen, VP Global Patient Networks Roche, U.S talked about Roche’s commitment - to be a trusted healthcare partner - and the importance of collaborating across industry with patient groups and broader healthcare ecosystems. To Humanise Healthcare, based on the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and where responsive care is the collective goal.
She emphasised focusing on mutual outcomes and asking ourselves ‘How can we make healthcare more human, less fragmented and ensure that all patients have access to treatments that are best for them?’
Reflecting on IEEPO and its growth, Rebecca commented: “IEEPO has become one of the most influential worldwide patient engagement platforms that exist today. I am personally inspired by the Position Paper of the IEEPO community reflecting our role as industry and the responsibility of each partner in the healthcare environment transformation.”
